Ben and the Missing Ruler
Ben was ready for school.
Book in the bag.Pencils in the bag.Snack in the bag.
But… no ruler.
Ben looked on the table.Under the chair.Even in his shoe.
“My ruler is lost,” he sighed.
Mum gave him a little hug.
“Maybe it isn’t lost,” said Ben suddenly.“Maybe it went measuring.”
Mum smiled. “Measuring what?”
Ben thought.
The table? No.His teddy? No.The bookshelf?
Ben’s eyes grew wide.
Yesterday, he had measured the shelf to see if there was room for one more book.
He ran over.
And there it was.
“My ruler!” Ben laughed.
“You were measuring!”
Mum kissed his head.
“See, little bear? When something goes missing, don’t hurry. Think about your last little adventure together.”
Ben tucked the ruler into his bag.
“Come on,” he whispered to it.
“We have another adventure today.”
